The Turbo Pendant was designed in 1965 but was first put into production in 1967, achieving great success over the years. It showcases the best in design: a simple form with a complex structure, combining a sense of ventilation and strength into a beautiful sculptural whole. The lamp is inspired by the lightness of Japanese rice paper, transformed into a more durable and robust version. The outer curves of the lamp are made up of 12 similar spiral pieces, forming a flower-like sphere that diffuses the light. The Turbo Pendant is a perfect example of the designer’s passion for multiple repeating elements, which are used throughout much of their work.
