In 1957, this lamp was designed for a royal hotel in Copenhagen, featuring many other functions. The floor lamp produces a pleasant downward-directed light through its white-painted inner shade. Additionally, the shade can be tilted to adjust the light distribution. The lamp series is considered a globally renowned design. In addition to the floor lamp, the series includes a table lamp, a smaller table lamp, a wall lamp, and another table lamp, all of which were commonly found in the hotel after its completion in 1960. The clean, unique shape of the lamp and its flawless light can be seen throughout the hotel, along with copper and stainless steel. The lamp series, along with the royal design, became part of the overall design concept created for the hotel, with almost everything designed by the same individual. The similarities between the straight lines in the lamp design and the combination of straight and curved lines are also evident in the geometric outlines of the architecture.
